In this talk we begin to learn of the counterfeits that are all around us contending for our heart’s devotion and how to begin to discover if you are worshipping a counterfeit or the One True God of the Bible.

The Scriptures speak of One Lord, One Faith, and then One Baptism. But Baptism can be a point of confusion and division in the life of the community of the One faith in the One Lord of Jesus Christ. So how are we to understand baptism? What is it? What does the word even mean? Why is important to continue to practice today? In this talk we will cover some of the reasons that Christian Assembly practices what is called ‘believer’s baptism’ which is different from ‘infant baptism’ practiced at some other churches. When it comes to baptism, water is just water. But water placed next to the word, to the story of the good news about Jesus Christ, is baptism.

One Prayer: What does a compass have to teach us about what it means to lead one unified life? Jesus' prayer for his followers is that we would be one - not the same, but one. Part of being one is leading the same life - with the same marks - no matter where we might go or whom we might be with at any given moment. In this talk, we will discover four essential marks of Jesus' followers from the prayer of Jesus in John 17 and consider how fully those four things mark our individual lives.

And if we just 'go with the flow,' the flow will lead us to exhausted, stressed out, anxious lives not certain what should be our One Lord. Is it possible in today's world to make one decision that then rules all the other decisions of our lives? And if so, what happens as we make that decision? We will touch on four things that God gives us as we make the decision to go with Jesus completely and devotedly.

One Body: Body parts are made to be connected to the body - and ultimately the head of the body, Jesus Christ. So why is it that there are some who say that they love Jesus, but hate the church? And what do the Scriptures have to say about that, if anything? Is it possible to love Jesus without loving the things he loves? In this teaching, we will consider what it looks like for Christ to build his followers into one body. Not only that, but what are some of the characteristics of a follower of Jesus who is being fully and completely attached to the one body of Christ?
